For the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (or NOAA), part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, I was asked to provide guidance on the agency’s plans for “innovative stakeholder engagement techniques.” In other words, how they could connect with and deliver urgent news to members of the public. Their use (or potential use) of online communities and platforms was one of the primary topics. The input I provided was then used to refine their ongoing efforts.
