SodaRatings.com on Download Squad, Netscape and Digg

This is pretty neat. SodaRatings.com got mentioned on Download Squad, a blog I read regularly myself. That led to the story/site being submitted to Netscape and Digg. If you happen to have an account at either of those sites, please feel free to vote for it if you feel it’s worthy! :)

I was interviewed over at Association EzCom. Most of it is related to phpBB. Check it out.

SodaRatings.com Launches!

SodaRatings.com launched today. I’m really happy and proud of this site and I look forward to seeing how it does.

I love soda and my love of soda really helped to propel me towards the idea, I am sure. So, I sat down and created the plan and hooked up with Jeremy to get it done. If you’re a soda drinker, please give it a look.

Also, just so it’s known once/if the copy cats show up, I added each soda ONE by ONE by hand myself. :)

Ask A Ninja DVD Shipping Confirmation

These guys are great. As soon as I found out that the Ask a Ninja guys were releasing a DVD, I placed my pre-order. It’s only $20, which is well worth it. I really like to support people that are doing cool things. People that make me laugh, as well. So, now I will have an Ask a Ninja DVD to go along with my Ask a Ninja t-shirt, Homestar Runner DVDs, t-shirts and accessories and Ze Frank t-shirt. :)

Anyway, here is the shipping confirmation I just received. Nice attention to detail.

Dear Patrick,

We have good news and bad news. The good news is that your order of Ask A Ninja Vol 1. DVD was shipped out today. The bad news is that there is also a real, live Ninja on his way to your house. Use extreme caution when opening your mailbox in the next few days. Just before we sealed the box, our packing master thought he heard a whisper saying “I am looking forward to killing Patrick soon”. We can’t be sure. It was either that or “what the hell… why are you stuffing me in the in this…” and the rest was muffled.

Please rest assured that we’ve taken great care in the shipping of your DVD. We hold true to an ancient DVD shipping tradition passed down for over 5000 years. This very intensive practice is only achieved after years of training, meditation, and purity of mind, and sadly’ some accidental killings (we’re looking for a new intern, if you know anyone…). After a rigorous 17 step process of verifying the authenticity of your DVD, we donned silk gloves and placed it into a sacred box made of magic and lined with Unicorn fur, tied the box with a strand of Gypsy hair, and wrapped the whole thing in a snazzy looking faux gold leaf paper, with elm leaf inlay from Costco. Unfortunately, by the time it gets to you, all of that fancy stuff will likely have been picked clean by the greedy postal service employees. Please don’t be surprised to see just a plain cardboard box.

Thank you again for your order with Film Baby. It is our pleasure to serve up the finest Independent entertainment for your viewing pleasure. Please come back and browse our thousands of titles, watch trailers or comment on films. It’s a great way to pass time at work!

If you need anything, or have any problems with this order, please reply to this email or call us 8am to 5pm PST at 877-345-6222. When calling reference order # 42.

We look forward to kill…er…serving you soon.

10,000 Posts Revisited

On January 13 of this year, I said:

In the many years that I have participated in forums and in the many forums that I have participated in, I have never reached a five figure post count. Not that it matters, but that is about to change. I have 9,980 posts at SportsForums.net, right now. So, it won’t be long now.

But, I could actually do it 3 times in 2006. I have 9,472 posts at KarateForums.com, so I will most likely reach 10,000 sometime this year. Finally, I have 8,657 posts at the phpBBHacks.com Support Forums and there is a good chance I will reach 10,000 this year there, as well.

Well, I barely made it. :) This morning I reached 10,000 posts on the phpBBHacks.com Support Forums, already having 10,000 on both SportsForums.net and KarateForums.com. Not much to say about it, but I remembered the post and wanted to update.

Domain Name Breakdown

So, it’s that time of year again. Time to print out a list of all domain names that I own with expirations so that I do not forget to renew them or (more importantly) transfer them from another registrar. All told, I own 211 domain names. Broken down:

199 .com
5 .net
5 .org
2 .us

.com reigns supreme.

Summary of 2006 Holiday Season Deals So Far…

I have fun finding deals, etc. and I’ve spent more money this holiday season than I ever have before. … That might just be a result of me getting older, getting credit cards and making more money, but anyway, here is a summary of things I’ve picked up thus far(prices include tax, shipping and any rebates):

Slingbox AV, $105.40
Kensington SX 2000 Speakers for iPod, $13.81
– Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, Call of Duty 3 (backordered) and Marvel Ultimate Alliance for Nintendo Wii with $0.79 donation to Toys for Tots, $93.36.
– The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Nintendo Wii (backordered) for $41.94.
Axion AXN6070A 7″ Portable DVD Player, $25.00.
– DVDs: In Living Color Season 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (all seasons – 5 different box sets) and Malcolm in the Middle, Season 1, $73.19.
– A pair of Columbia Sportswear sunglasses and Oakley sunglasses, $69.92.
– 3 Sean John Million Dollar Dreams t-shirts (each a different color), $57.27.
– Sean John “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” grey t-shirt, Sean John “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” orange t-shirt, Sean John eagle t-shirt, Sean John Royal Dynasty t-shirt (didn’t buy it at that site) and Yankees button down dress shirt, $116.88.

Google Checkout is/has been running a great promotion where you get $10 off of $30 and $20 off of $50 spent through them. I’ve used it a few times at least.

What sort of deals have you picked up, if any? :)
