SNOW

Man, is it snowing. Last night when I went to bed, it wasn’t. When I woke up: pow. Completely covered, coming down hard and it still is now. Coming down real hard. Yahoo! Weather says there is 4-6 inches expected today, but tomorrow it’ll be sunny with a high of 35. heh, it’s that time of year again…

Interview Idea for The Community Admin Show

From the show site:

I have an interview idea, the problem is that I am not sure what questions I should ask. The idea is to invite my moderators onto my show – all of the ones that have been with me for a decent period of time and ask them each 3-5 questions. I think that it is an interesting and fun idea. The problem I have is – what are the questions? I’m not sure what the questions should be. What do you think would be some interesting questions for me to ask my own staff?

Thoughts?

Looks like I was right… well… kinda…

A while back, I wrote about the Biggie Duets album and about some odd/interesting circumstances and why I thought it might be a double disc album (music wise) and there would be more material, etc. Well, I don’t see anything that suggests two music discs, however, it does appear that there is more material. In that article, I meantioned the tracklist that was posted at the Virgin music site. That tracklist has now changed to reflect the official tracklist that Bad Boy/WMG have released. Let’s compare:

Official:

1. B.I.G. Live In Jamaica (Intro)
2. The Most Shady featuring Diddy, Eminem, and Obie Trice
3. Spit Your Game featuring Twista and Bone Thugs N Harmony
4. Whatchu Want featuring Jay-Z
5. The Funk featuring Nate Dogg and Redman

14. My Dad (Interlude)
15. Hustler’s Story featuring Scarface, Akon, and Big Gee of Boyz N Da Hood
16. Breakin’ Old Habits featuring T.I. and Slim Thug
17. Ultimate Rush featuring Missy Elliott
18. Mi Casa featuring R. Kelly and Charlie Wilson
19. Little Homie (Interlude)
20. Hold Ya Head featuring Bob Marley
21. Wake Up Now featuring KoRn
22. Love Is Everlasting (Outro)

I’m not sure what HMV Japan is, but they have the album for sale. The tracklist is the official one, but wait, there is one on the end. It’s “23. Running Your Mouth featuring Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Foxy Brown, Fabolous & Busta Rhymes”… what is that? What does “‘“à”Õ

Launched

Three things have launched today.

1. The new iFroggy Network homepage design.

2. The new iFroggy Network Blog.

3. The new iFroggy Network bar (can be seen on any of the iFroggy Network sites).

Whew. Most of the day: gone. I’m happy to have it launched though. I have to give a huge thanks to my man Chris for his help. He told me how I could get php includes in Nucleus CMS, phpBB and the Freekrai.net AWS script. Thanks to him, the bar is now easier to update. Also, my friend Bryan was huge in helping me get the design looking nice in both IE and Firefox.

So, what does the launch of that blog mean for this blog? Well, it means I’ll probably be talking about iFroggy a little less here, but it will still be talked about plenty, I assure you. This is my personal blog and I write about whatever strikes my fancy… my network strikes my fancy a lot. ;)

Second Episode of The Community Admin Show

It has been released. It features an interview with my friend Tom, who co-admins the SitePoint Forums.

Bush Gets Jury Duty Monday, I Get It Tuesday

Funny.

President Bush gets his summons on Monday.

I get my summons on Tuesday.

Launching Soon: New iFroggy Network Design, New iFroggy Network Bar, iFroggy Network Blog

The new iFroggy Network homepage design, new iFroggy Network bar and the iFroggy Network Blog will be launching in a couple of days. I’m really happy with it and I look forward to launching it. The iFroggy Network blog will be our 23rd site and will be a new network and industry related blog written by me.

Wanted: Community Admins/Owners for Writing Project

I am working on an exciting (and large) writing project that I cannot say very much about. I am looking for community administrators and owners who have had successful endeavors in the topics below to contribute essays (only 1 per topic) to the project. There will be no form of monetary compensation, other than a copy of the work and credit in the work (as well as a mention of your community/communities).

The list of topics is below. What I am looking for is real life examples and in use theories and solutions. I want details. I will set a minimum word count of 1,000, but I want a complete work. If that’s 1,000 or 3,000 – it doesn’t matter. I want all major points covered, I want your expert advice. What you did, what works, what people should look for, how to set it up (in the case of newsletters, etc.). I want you to talk about your specific efforts.

Buying Advertising (including both traditional site advertising and PPC search engine advertising)
Offline Promotion
Running a Newsletter (successful from a promotional/encouraging participation perspective)
Running a Chat Room (including chat events, successful from a promotional/encouraging participation perspective)
Finding Advertisers
Selling Merchandise (including the creation of the merchandise and sale of it, successful from a monetary perspective)
Paid Memberships
Affiliate Programs

Your essay need not be exclusive to my project. In other words, it can already be published somewhere or can be published somewhere. If you have experienced great success in more than one of the topics above, you are more than welcome to cover more than one.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Before you starting writing an essay, please contact me and let me know that you are interested and give me a brief description of your success and your site, etc. Please e-mail me at patrick@ifroggy.com.

Thanks for reading.
