I am working on an exciting (and large) writing project that I cannot say very much about. I am looking for community administrators and owners who have had successful endeavors in the topics below to contribute essays (only 1 per topic) to the project. There will be no form of monetary compensation, other than a copy of the work and credit in the work (as well as a mention of your community/communities).

The list of topics is below. What I am looking for is real life examples and in use theories and solutions. I want details. I will set a minimum word count of 1,000, but I want a complete work. If that’s 1,000 or 3,000 – it doesn’t matter. I want all major points covered, I want your expert advice. What you did, what works, what people should look for, how to set it up (in the case of newsletters, etc.). I want you to talk about your specific efforts.

Buying Advertising (including both traditional site advertising and PPC search engine advertising)
Offline Promotion
Running a Newsletter (successful from a promotional/encouraging participation perspective)
Running a Chat Room (including chat events, successful from a promotional/encouraging participation perspective)
Finding Advertisers
Selling Merchandise (including the creation of the merchandise and sale of it, successful from a monetary perspective)
Paid Memberships
Affiliate Programs

Your essay need not be exclusive to my project. In other words, it can already be published somewhere or can be published somewhere. If you have experienced great success in more than one of the topics above, you are more than welcome to cover more than one.
