Puff: The Lox Don’t Have a Clue
Updating what I wrote yesterday, Puff was on Hot 97 just a bit ago, setting the record straight. He brought paperwork. The contract, cancelled checks and everything. He basically killed it, so if you’re at all interested, you should listen. He doesn’t own 80%, he owns 20%. It’s not a “lifetime” deal, like they said. They have 5 albums left on it. I don’t see any reason for him to get on the radio, bring all these papers and lie. So, I believe him.
On the low, garbage stuff they said about Biggie and relating Biggie’s death to Puff and talking about Biggie’s publishing - he wouldn’t talk. Instead, he passed it to Biggie’s mom.
Ms. Wallace on Lil’ Cease: “He needs to watch it.” “Lil’ Cease needs to cool it.” The Ms. Wallace part was insane. She said that we (the estate) are “very happy” with the publishing and are very “comfortable”.
He schooled people to the business. It’s not evil or bad, it’s the business. Hopefully anyone who was gullible enough to fall for that stuff will listen up and this will help them understand.
Some more thoughts: Brandon made a good point and Diddy said it today. It’s an investment. I buy stock in Microsoft. Diddy bought stock in The Lox. Sometimes stocks go up. Sometimes they go down. Diddy has invested in people that have not done squat and he’s lost all of his money. I’ve done the same in the stock market. Either way, the company can’t come back to me and say “hey, we want our shares back.” That’s not how it works. Puff owns stock in The Lox, Inc. It’s nonsense for them to try to get out of their own business deal this way, by stating half truths and outright lies and then throwing other artists names into it further proving that they don’t know how things work.
They said Puff should thank them for the Benjamins. He did today at the end. But, honestly, they need to thank Puff for allowing them to do that record. Like he said, it was their biggest record. They perform it at their shows. That song put them on the map. Puff let them on it.
Anyway, that’s all I have to say now. Puff again (and again and again) said that he’d meet with them. We’ll see if that happens.
