Yankees win.

Schilling opens his mouth and gets tattooed. I never understand why people open their mouths like that. Look at me! I want to shut up 55,000 New Yorkers! The only people you shut up this evening were Red Sox fans.

Everyone in the lineup did something. Posada was the only guy without a hit – and even he got an RBI.

Lofton clocked one over the short porch. I still am not in love with him, but its good to see.

Despite a defensive miscue, Matsui more than made up with it with a 3 for 5 day with 2 runs and 5 RBI. 2 doubles.

Bernie is hot. I told you. Bernie rocks. 2 for 5 with 3 RBI. 1 double.

Sheff was awesome, too. 3 for 4 with 4 runs. 2 doubles. He was pumped, as were all the guys.

The 1 through 5 hitters (Jeter, A-Rod, Sheff, Matsui and Bernie) went 11 for 23 with 9 runs, 8 RBI and 2 BB.

Only one run came off of a home run (Lofton’s solo). Don’t tell me these Yankees need home runs to win.

The stat line doesn’t show it, but Moose was rocking. He held a perfect game through 6 and 1/3 and it blew up at the end a bit, but he’s great.

Everyone who’s doubting Mo a bit needs to just get off it. Everyone fails at some time or another, but this is the guy we want out there. Don’t compare him and Foulke. he came in and pitched 1 and 1/3 innings after getting to the pen in the 3rd inning of the game. It was a great sight with him hugging his teammates, getting loud applause from the fans and coming in to nail down the game.

Great win for the Yanks.
