ALDS Game 2 Thoughts

The Yankees won game 2 on a great comeback in the bottom of the 12th. It is never over with these Yankees.

Lieber pitched solidly. After the first two innings, he didn’t allow a run.

Can’t say enough good things about Jeter. Monster blast in the 1st, walk in the 12th, heads up tag up and score of the winning run.

A-Rod, too. Big hit in the 12th to tie the game. Having a great series.

Even though it wasn’t the best hit to try to sac a guy in, have to give Matsui credit for making the productive out – game winning sacrifice.

That was an awesome play Posada made in the 1st to nail the runner at 3rd.

Cairo getting that 1 out walk in the 12th was big. I know, its just a walk. But, that base runner means a lot to the 12th inning.

Strutze pitched well. He allowed that last HR, but he stepped it up when we needed him and kept the game going long enough for us to win it.

Mo blew a save. He was dynamite in the 9th, so maybe he just wasn’t ready. Regardless, consider this: he has only ever had 1 blown save in any individual postseason. It has happened twice before, and we lost both of those series. Well, if he gets the one out of the way AND we advance, we should be set, right? ;)
