ALDS Game 1 Thoughts
October 6, 2004
Some general thoughts.
Moose was very good. Our bats weren’t silenced versus Santana – thats a good thing. We got 9 hits to their 7. Our problem was the lack of hitting once those guys got it (5 freaking double plays).
I don’t mind Bernie in the cleanup role. Really, I don’t. Bernie is as likely to get a hit as anyone else, really.
I am glad we signed John Olerud. Not a move you hear much about, but a good midseason move for us. He’s been there before, he plays very good D.
It’s just one game. Its a loss and it stinks, but it is just one game. Hopefully, we’ll get back on track tonight and keep hitting – only this time, hit with runners one or don’t hit groundballs with runners on… something like that.
