Stuff It, Bernhard
Langer rubs salt in Sutton’s wounds.
“I figured that Hal would front load, which he did and I tried to counteract that by putting my guys where I felt was best for the team and I think the matchup is very good.
“I’m not scared. I’m pretty sure and convinced that out of the first three matches I’d be very surprised if we don’t get two points,” said Langer.
I don’t mind that he said it, I mean, I wouldn’t be opening my mouth just yet, but this is athletics, afterall, people do talk - the way the article is written kind of gets me, though. What he says is “confidence”. If we said that, it would be “just another case of American arrogance”. Bah.
It is written by someone from the AFP, which is headquartered in Paris. I’m not going to speculate, as I am not familar with them - it could just be a coincidence.
By the way, at this very moment, there are 5 matches in play - 2 are all square and 3 are 1 up in favor of the Americans, including 2 out of 3 of those early big 3 matches. It would have to be an amazing comeback - a completely dominated Sunday - for us to win. Let’s go guys.
