Sheff
July 1, 2004
When Gary Sheffield played for other teams, I heard about how he was a trouble maker and a clubhouse problem, etc. I always kind of liked him and thought he was alright.
This year, the Yankees signed him. Along with Kevin Brown, people wondered what they would do to our clubhouse. They’ve been fine. They’ve been better than fine – they’ve been great.
Sheffield is a fiery, tough competitor who plays hurt. As Alex noted, he plays the game like a linebacker.
I always like the Yankees, but I have to say I like the way this team looks on the field. The way they walk, talk (generally) and battle. This is a good team – it’ll be fun to watch as this season goes on.
